Get Out of Your Own Way!

I have heard the words "Get out of your own way, Wendy" a couple of times this week. I've always been a questioner. I love digging deeper to learn more about things that interest me, intrigue me, puzzle me! My brain finds it very difficult to switch off and it all becomes quite draining.
It happened again this week after a lovely person came for their first Reiki treatment. I'm still learning through experience, and how this treatment affected my body felt very new and I wanted to know why. Of course I did! So I phoned my fabulous Reiki teacher, Grenville Williams, to ask for his thoughts. He explained the basics but then told me that I don't need to know everything. It's about trusting and going with the flow as it's all about THEIR experience when you hold the reiki energy for them. Observe and step back. Such good advice. "Don't get in your own way, Wendy," was his wisdom! I will carry that into my future treatments.
It happened again last night, almost as a reminder not to forget Grenville's words! I was doing the Angel reading email that goes out to my subscribers when it happened. (There's an email every Monday so please feel free to subscribe so you can receive the messages too). I haven't done a reading for myself for some time and felt guided to do a 10 card tarot spread for myself, asking "What do I need to know?"
A few major arcana came out, all signalling big change. I know what most meant as I am transitioning to a new life path at this time and the clarifying cards gave me the information I needed. However, one card resonated hugely and was very much a life lesson.
The card above came up for my near future card.
Now I LOVE the Tower. Some people fear it as something catastrophic, or traumatising and difficult that will happen. I see it very differently. The Tower for me is when the Universe steps in to quickly move us from something that no longer serves our best and highest good to something better. As it's divinely guided, we can't resist the change and the discomfort of this change as it's all a part of our growth and learning. That's what our experience as a human being is all about.
Of course, I wanted to clarify the card to get more information about what the Tower would mean for me.
I asked "what do I need to know?" ... no card
I asked "how will this change affect me?" ... no card
I asked "where will this take me?" ..... you guessed it, no card!
Then the words resonated in my head, "You don't need to know".
I was getting in my own way again, asking for information I just didn't need to know. I know that with Uranus' position at this time that we're all likely to experience a surprise or two in the coming weeks or months. This is a lesson to trust the Universe that it'll be change for good. I need to trust my Angels that I am supported and protected. I need to be patient that this will all happen at the right time in the best way possible for me.
So I have stepped out of my own way! I'll allow whatever happens to happen with an open, accepting heart. I'll use positive affirmations to keep my vibration high, to keep the energies positive and to be aware of how my body feels in the changes to come. Let's see what comes in!
